Beth Knickerbocker

Special Counsel, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency

As Special Counsel, Beth focuses on a variety of regulatory matters related to fintech, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and operational risk. Prior to joining the OCC’s law department, Beth served as the OCC’s first Chief Innovation Officer. In that role, she was responsible for establishing and managing the Office of Innovation and advising senior management on a variety of emerging trends including artificial intelligence, digital assets, and bank fintech arrangements. Beth also previously served as a Vice President and Senior Counsel in the American Bankers Association's (ABA) Office of Regulatory Policy, focusing on the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, risk management, governance, and bank examination issues. Before joining the ABA, Beth was the Chief Risk Officer of a regional bank and an attorney at the law firm Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP (now Eversheds Sutherland LLP).
